Man, the store Express (at the mall) pissed me off last night. D and I went so that I could use a $15 gift certificate that they sent me, for being a "preferred customer" or some crap. No where on the card does it say anything about a minimum purchase (although of course you'd have to buy at least $15 worth of merchandise). Anyway, I picked out 3 pairs of underwear, which were a package deal for $15. I get to check-out, and the lady says "You know, they really don't want you to buy just $15 worth of stuff. You should go pick something else out, and then you can get another 10% off if you use your store credit card". Excuse me?? First off, aside from the obvious having to get $15 worth of stuff, there is no minimum purchase requirement stated on that certificate. Secondly, it's hardly worth it to me to buy another pair of underwear for $15, when I came in fully intending to spend as little as possible!! So I walked out. But not before doing something "nice", by giving a stranger my gift certificate. Let's see what they got screwed out of.
