Driving from here to Toledo is NOT a quick jaunt! It took us 2 1/2 hours to get there, and then more than 3 to come back (I don't advise taking the 23, as much as it's a very scenic route). We left our place at 11 am, and got home at 11 pm. We stayed at his parent's house from 2 til about a quarter to 8 pm (much later than we had planned for. We said 7 at the latest, to be home by bedtime).
Lauren was very well behaved- no temper tantrums, no screaming when she slipped under the water (no less than 3 times) in the wading pool, no cying because a stranger was holding her. Just a very good girl. She got some late birthday presents- one of which is an airtivity ball popper toy. It's adorable, and she likes it.. but she has to learn not to try and grab the balls before they pop out of the hole. Otherwise, the toy's a torture device. She can't wait for it to pop out before she grabs it (and she has a hard time grabbing it, because her hands end up pushing the ball back down the hole), and then doesn't catch it in time when it pops out, before it rolls down the ramp into the next hole. LOL She's frustrating herself, poor thing. She also got a cool stacker toy that moves around by air (I just love these air toys!), which even the older kids seemed to enjoy. She hit it off big time with one of her female cousins (who's great with kids- she got a half sister maybe 1/2 a year older than Lauren), LOVED D's parent's Wolvarines/Indians room (HAHAHA), and was totally mesmerized by the stepping stones in the back yard. (I gotta make the one David bought me like 4 years ago for Christmas. I've been waiting for a nice place to put it in, and it would look nice on my back patio). Not much else to say, except for that my daughter is a charmer. :)
I'm exhausted. Oh.. interesting. Maybe it's just because Columbus seems to be getting more rain than Toledo (right now, anyway), but it seems more humid here than up there. I thought that was strange..
