Interesting news article on a virus that could help treat various cancers.
David drug that link up for me. Perhaps because I was just talking to my dad. I spent the last 40 minutes or so talking to him, and it was a very pleasant conversation. He's amazingly optimistic, which is a good thing.
From what he told me, he's got a tumor on his right (?) bronchial tube, about the size of an orange. It has pretty much blocked all the little branches into that lung, so he's not able to use it. There is a bit of fluid in his lung- a lot of his pain (if I remember correctly) has come from the pressure of the tumor on the sac surrounding the lung.. which is causing the fluid to put pressure on the lung itself. The doctor told him that there is a 78% chance (whatever that means) that the type of chemo they're using will shrink the tumor.. at least to a size manageable enough to finish it off with radiation. He had an x-ray taken this last week, and will find out in a week or so if the tumor has shrunk at all. Since the doctor told him that his pain would lessen as his tumor shrunk, he seems positive that the chemo is doing something- his pain has lessened a bit in the last few weeks or so. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him he gets good news.
Oh.. David said that I should tell you what I wonderful husband I have. Why? Because it's nearly 10:30 now, and he's busy making me chicken noodle soup.
