So my little man hates shots. No.. I mean, he REALLY hates shots! I was hoping he'd be ok this time around. Last time, he cried for maybe 10 seconds, then that was it. He never gave it a second thought. Today it was like someone took away his birthday- over and over and over again. Sigh.. I gave him some Tylenol right before we left the office, and now he's sound asleep in his carseat (I didn't have the heart to move him).
But at least he's growing! Matthew is now 14 lbs, 3 oz, is 25 1/2" long, and his head circumference is 16 1/4" around. He's stayed fairly consistent over the last 3 months, so that's good. He's a skinny little guy, but he's long enough to wear some 6-9 month clothes fairly comfortably (w/out drowning in them).
The doctor asked if we'd started giving him rice cereal yet, and I said no. She told me that as long as they're at least 14 lbs, they're big enough (old enough?) to usually do ok with it. I also asked about his pooping habits. For some reason, right around Thanksgiving, he went from having a BM once a day to maybe once a week. And it's much pastier than usual (breastfed babies' poop is very liquidy). Anyway, she said that it just means his body is absorbing most of the water from the breastmilk. So long as he's not filling his diaper with rocks, it's all a-ok.
Guess that's about it!
