One of the "paid to read" programs I'm a member of asked if anyone could create a few small banners for the site, in return for some free advertising. I didn't do it for the free ads, but since I've been thinking of actually doing this as a small little side-business, I emailed her and asked if she still needed somebody to help. These are the ones I came up with, based on the current site design. The top two small banners were the ones originally done for her- they had to be that specific size. She ended up going with a banner made by the first person who contacted her, but she liked mine well enough to ask if I might be interested in designing new banners for the program. She ended up buying 7 of them from me! $1 for each ;) Not too shabby! (And then some free advertising and a free membership upgrade, which is pretty damn good, too!)
