DRUDGE REPORT FLASH 2005 - Tom Cruise Interview with Matt Lauer.

This morning I finally sat down to look up why people think Tom Cruise has gone off the deep end. He does sound a bit nutty to me.. almost a superiority complex. I do agree that people should do more research on drugs before they take them.. even if prescribed them. There are way too many kids on Ritalin and other drugs (mostly to curb behavior issues, from what I can tell). I have several cousins who were put on meds like this, IMHO because their parents (and teachers) couldn't control them. Instead of figuring out what was really wrong with their kids, and dealing with it, they chose the "easy" way out. Kind of like using TV to babysit your kids, you use drugs to keep them in check. Instead of doing some actual parenting and figuring out if there's just something you're not doing right as a parent. BUT. I do think there are children (and adults) with legitimate psychological issues.. chemical imbalances.. that drugs (as well as therapy) can help. I don't agree that we should deny people the right to medical help, if they truly need it.

And as for his comments on post-partum depression, well.. all I can say is Tom Cruise has never birthed a child, and will never birth one. So he probably just needs to leave that alone.
