Ack. Monday, I called my OB/GYN office (having forced myself, really). I asked if I could schedule an appointment to see the dr. regarding some pains in my breasts, that I've had for the last couple of months now. Because they don't like to waste time with that stuff, I was brought in the next day for an exam. The dr. didn't feel any lumps (I haven't felt anything really myself), but she had me "donate" some blood for some tests, and then scheduled me for a breast sonogram tomorrow morning.
I was just looking around online for some basic info on what I should expect. Yes, having had 2 kids I know what a sonogram is, but I've never had one done to my breasts before. A mammogram sounds bad enough- get a boob smashed between two metal plates or something. But a sonogram? I get to lay on my back (for apparently an hour), while somebody (I hope to God a female!) lubes me up and rubs me down with her magic wand. LOL I wasn't thrilled about it to begin with, but I was just reading somebody's blog about when she had her sonogram done, and now I'm like "Oh god.. this is gonna be even more embarrassing than I thought". I should have just left everything up to my imagination and not bothered with the internet search.
