Ugh. What a week.

So, Monday, Matthew's teacher asks me if anything has been going on at home, or if he's had a change in his diet or anything- because apparently his behavior was off the charts. Typically he's very defiant when you ask him to do something he doesn't want to do, or has no interest in. But lately, he has been fighting everybody in school. I couldn't think of anything, so I said no. Then Tuesday, his teacher asked again. He had a bad day, but it was slightly better.

[Tuesday after school, we had a meltdown in front of pretty much everybody. When they first came out, he seemed ok. He sat on the bench by his sister, then decided to get into the wagon with one of his classmates, who has difficulty walking. I told him it was time to go, and attempted to help him back out. He was upset, and started yelling. Once out, he basically ran to the bench and back to the wagon again, and ended up in a screaming fit on the floor. I'm trying to get him up, one of his teachers makes a sound like "Here we go again", and I'm ready to go postal. So basically at this point I had no choice but to grab him by the jacket, and carry him out of there as he threw a major hissy. It was quite lovely].

I thought to myself later how I must have seemed to other parents. This is by no means the first time he's done this. It's not the first time I've practically drug him out of the building. I can't just let him stay there for as long as he wants, you know? It serves no purpose, really. Anyway. Forget about figuring out why the hell he threw a fit that particular time, I focused on why it was he had a slightly better day in class. I thought that the last two mornings, I'd forgotten to give him his vitamins. I'd have to see how he'd do in class the following day.

Wednesday after school, I didn't get a chance to ask how his day went. When his class finally came out, his teacher had him in the wagon- she called to me that she'd meet me at the front of the building. I walked slowly enough that she caught up to me, and I briefly mentioned the "show" Matthew and I put on the day before. She said that she'd just start wheeling him to the front for a while and see if that helped. (we'd talked about it in the past, because of similar situations). Thursday morning, I did ask about his behavior, and she did say Wednesday was a much better day. I don't know if these vitamins have anything to do with his behavior in class (I typically give them to him with breakfast), but I'm going to not give him any for a week, and see how it affects him. (I know that cold meds have really given him a problem, so why not the vitamins?)

And this potty training thing. UGH! This weekend, he's gone in his chair once that I can think of. He is holding it in so long, and basically is refusing to pee in the toilet. He is going all over the house. David thinks he might be ready to pee standing up (but yet hasn't taken an active roll in helping with the potty training- showing him how to do it).

(if there are spelling mistakes, i'll edit later. lauren's bugging me to play a virtual pet game on here. LOL)
