Matthew had somewhat of a breakthrough in potty training. His teacher asked him (told me) that he was ready to wear "big boy" underwear to school, so I've insisted he wear them just about every time we go out. Not long after this happened, one of the teachers told him that if he went potty, he'd get a Smartie. Well, I've offered him candy before.. he didn't seem to care about anything but the candy, and he sure didn't pee for me. This time, after some waiting, he actually went. And now he's going in the potty multiple times a day. Not just that, but the other day (for the first time ever), he went #2 in the potty! He's done it twice now! WOO HOO!

Another cool thing. Monday, his teacher told me that she was working with one of the other kids in his class, when she looked over and saw Matthew writing his name on a doodle pad. Now I've seen him write the first letters of all of our names (and say something cute like "D for Daddy!"), but that's about it. Never any words. (He can type "Matthew", though). So that night, I asked him to write his name for me too. He did it several times, then he wrote "Lauren", "The", and "mommy". Day before yesterday, he wrote "I Love Matthew". I gotta tell you, it's the cutest thing ever! (This kid is 4 months shy of his 4th birthday, and he's already reading and writing. He really is not that far behind Lauren in this respect. She was/is our little brain child, but I think she has some competition!)

He's a nut. He just climbed up into my lap and said "Forty-thousand and one, forty-thousand and two.." LOL I don't know where he gets this stuff.

I have my second MRI this evening. Just of the cervical spine, since it was told to me over the phone (after my episode in the ER) that there was some kind of "artifact" found there in the last set of films. I am hoping that either the artifact is still there, or something more obvious has shown up. < *TMI ALERT!* > Whatever landed me in the ER was enough to cut my "female problems" short, for the month- it obviously stressed my body out.< /*TMI ALERT!* > Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see. I did stop my new meds, though. For the same reason I stopped the Topamax- pain in the right side of my abdomen, and ribs. UGH.

Lauren is 5 now! She had her birthday on April 28th, and boy is she telling EVERYONE that she is 5! (She's a "big girl" now. LOL)
