I was checking into my email earlier when I saw a blurb about fires in Los Angeles.. I didn't click on the links, but had hoped it was nothing serious. Then I got a call from my sister, because at least 2 people in our family (and at least one in her husband's family) are in some possible danger zones.
Most of my relatives live in the mountains of the San Fernando valley. One of my dad's sisters is very close to the Sesnon fire.. which right now is at the corner of Reseda and Sesnon.. she's higher up into the mountain, right off of Sesnon. (As of a couple of hours ago, my aunt was not yet being evacuated, but there were fire trucks on her street).
Lots of craziness.. my high school is being used for a temporary shelter, along with many others.. and many of the schools in that section of the valley will be closed tomorrow.
Listening to the news (local ABC 7 Los Angeles).. Marc Brown was stating that the freeway closures are amazing- they've seen nothing like this probably since the 1994 Northridge quake. Wow.
