Day 6 of P90X, and all is going well. (This blog isn't a P90X blog, but since it's something I'm doing right now, I'll probably mention it a bit).
I've been doing a pretty good job with cutting back on carbs, amping up my protein intake, and making healthy choices when grocery shopping. The key with this program (to start, at any rate) is to cut out carbs almost completely- I think somebody at my level gets 1 serving a day. Cut out the fat too, for a quick path to a lean body. I made my son a birthday cake a few days ago, but used egg whites to cut down on the fat and cholesterol.. even doing that, I think I had two small pieces out of the entire 13x9 cake! :P
The nutrition guide is actually really good, although I do improvise on occasion. I also don't buy (or at least haven't yet bought) any of the program's shakes or supplements. Somebody online had a really good (and easy) "recovery" drink that you have after a really tough workout, and it tastes darn good.
So far, even after only a week, I feel a lot better. I do feel like I breathe deeper, and though everything is sore, it's a good sore.
I'm really hoping this helps with some of my health issues. Keeping my fingers crossed!
