I had an ultrasound today to date my pregnancy and to generally make sure things are "normal" (as normal as they can be for 8 weeks). I'm 8 weeks today, and my EDD is 9-15-03. I even got a little picture of him or her. How the hell the guy could tell me which side the head was, I have no clue. It looked completely identical on both sides. Despite having a vaginal ultrasound (not something I was aware of in advance, I'll have you know), that was the only good moment of the entire visit. It took an entire hour just to be seen. Apparently there is only one u/s technician in the entire office (of like 8 doctors or so), and he's only in on certain days of the week. So everyone and their uncle was there for an u/s. Hence the wait. I wanted to die. Apparently all is well, and I've lost 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Sigh..
