I gotta write up a journal entry about this trip.. but things are looking up! Instead of waiting til Thursday for our furniture, we're getting all of our stuff delivered tomorrow! And we're also getting our new washer & dryer delivered then as well. And my downstairs toilet will be fixed- we moved in and discovered that it leaks from the wall when you flush (our shower was jacked up, too, but the guy came today to fix that).

Oh.. a little tip. If you're going to travel with money, I suggest NOT going the route of Traveler's Checks. We closed out our savings and put everything into TC's (except for a small amount of cash we took for emergencies, hotels, etc). NO ONE takes them. We got lucky in Kansas City, at a post office. We needed to get a money order to pay our move-in for this place. Even though Traveler's Checks are supposed to be a safe way to carry money, and they are supposed to be just like cash, no one wants to use them. Even the post office wasn't sure they could. Then yesterday we opened up an account at Huntington Bank. HA!! The chick never told us until after we tried to use our temporary ATM card (to pay for a purchase waiting for us at Target), that none of the money we just deposited (a good amount, I might add- pretty much the rest of our money) wouldn't be available for up to 6 months. Excuse me?? So we just opened up an account with you, put all of our money into it, and we can't use it for any time up to 6 months?? David and I were beyond pissed. Why the hell wouldn't she tell us this before hand? We could have gone to a post office, gotten money orders, and deposited those instead. So she approved us for access to $200 of our money- enough to buy stuff we really needed for the apartment (partly, baby gates. This is NOT the kind of place for babies, the way the stair way is). Anyway.. that was a nightmare.

LOL I just looked over to see D asleep on our new patio furniture (which is being used as living room furniture until we get our couches). Magick Kitty is asleep on his chest. LOL

Now all I really need is a cable modem! Dial-up SUCKS!! (Cable guys comes Monday).
