Shit.. if it's not one thing, it's another around here. First off, we're waiting patiently (HA!) for all the traveler's checks to clear so we can use them.. at least until D gets his next paycheck, or I get my last. Secondly, we had our cable installed yesterday. Or at least we had hoped to.

Apparently "Insight Communications" brokers jobs out to some company called Cable Express. These people SUCK ASS. Ok, the guy comes out, and after going down to the basement (why the hell for, I have no idea.. but he fucked up some of D's stuff down there), he takes off. Literally gets in his truck and leaves. After 5 minutes, he gets back. Goes into Lauren's room (which I only found out much later), and felt the need to take down her baby gate to get into her room, instead of merely sticking his head in to see if that's the room where the other TV was (it's not- and he would have seen the tv right there in my room at the top of the stairs, had he been paying any attention). He first tells me there's no way to get cable up there.. then later says he can do it, but the cable will be run up along the walls, up the stairs, etc. I told him whatever he needed to do was fine. He hooks up the box, says it works, then proceeds to hook up the cable modem.

While sitting here at my computer, he tells me that the cable box for the TV is bad. (So why the hell are you leaving it here?) The cable modem he leaves laying on the floor, instead of setting it up like most cable guys do.. on the desk. Before leaving, I ask again about the bad cable box. "Yeah, all the boxes I got today were bad" (Great- so again, why the hell install it?). BUt he does claim we have at least basic cable until a new box can get here. After he leaves, I go to change the channel. The box is so bad, I can't change the channel. I'm stuck on the stupid traffic channel. Great. I've been stuck watching the same four damn Disney videos for the last week (waiting for the others to come via a package we mailed to ourselves the day we left CA), and I'm ready to shoot myself. At this point I could care less about being online. I just want to watch some regular TV.

I called up the cable company, and he couldn't send or receive a signal from the box. (And David called back to bitch some more when he got home from work- only he was able to get our basic cable running. Without a box, I might add). We'll have someone coming out Wednesday to put in a new one- well actually, David will do it. He's threatened to sue Insight if they come in and touch anything else. The guy who was out here literally tore up the back of our brand new entertainment center (instead of running the cable thru the hole already there for just that purpose), ripped open a hole in the wall where the wire comes out, and left it like that. Then he left the cable going from downstairs to my room, all over the damn place. Literally in the middle of the floor, and running up the middle of the stairs. What the holy hell is that shit? I have NEVER seen anything like it. David and I are still in amazement that guy's walking around living and breathing. He doesn't deserve to be.

And boy.. I'm not a good mom right now. I don't think I have been since we left CA.
