For minimal complaining (I didnt say "none"), you can visit the baby's blog.

Anyway, there are a few things I like about being here:

*It's very green.
*It's been quite rainy here since our arrival (despite the humidity, which I don't mind too much except for at night).
*Our apartment is HUGE compared to our last place- three stories, a/c, dishwasher, we have our own washer & dryer, there is lots of storage space, 1 1/2 baths (convenient for pregnant people like me, who don't want to hike upstairs whenever I need to pee), a pantry, patio for Lauren and the cats (which has 2 trees, and is frequently visited by birds and chipmunks), fairly new carpet, etc..
*We're conveniently close to pretty much everything.
*We're no longer in close proximity to my family.
*There are some really nice houses in Columbus- much nicer than a lot of the houses we've seen even up in Toledo. We're considering pricing them around here.

Couple of odd things:

*We have a locking oven, which I think is a great safety feature. However, you can't lock it while the oven is on, because then the oven won't work. What's the point of that? Do you want your child to climb into the oven while it's on and cook themselves? I don't get it.. maybe it's wired wrong.
*Yesterday we drove around half the city to find a damn post office. Finally found one. At the mall, of all places. LOL We only spent an hour trying to find it (despite a list of addresses we had with us), because the stupid mail man didn't pick up my urgent mail. I guess they don't pick mail up even as a courtesy? David claims that in Toledo, they don't do that either- his parents never left outgoing mail in their box. So if it doesn't rain today, Lauren and I are going on a walk of the complex to see if there's a community drop box. I sure hope so. I'm not driving to the mall every time I want to mail a letter (although it is a great excuse to go shopping.. not a real great mall, though. We're just waiting for the opportunity to hit the ones north of here).

I am happy to say that my stupid cats are well on their way to ensuring we don't get our $300 pet deposit back.. little fuckers. I'm beginning to question my firm beliefs against declawing.

Oh... I know I haven't updated Lauren's site in ages. But it's amazing how just in the last couple of weeks, her vocabulary is developing. She was making babbling noises before (she had a few "babbles" that she repeated several times on a daily basis). Now, she actually goes "mooo" when you ask her what sound a cow makes. Also, she says "all done" when she's finished drinking milk, or when her movie's over. She also says "movie". Of course "all done" really comes out as "ah duh", and "movie" sounds more like "moo-ee". But she's very consistent, and that's what matters. (Oh.. she also says "me! me!" whenever she wants something. But she's been doing that for months. Sigh..)
