So.. the appointment. Actually, Lauren's new Pediatrician is very nice, as are the nurses (the nurse we had actually moved here from near where David and I just moved from back about 3 years ago). The front is HUGE. You walk in the door, and although you don't really notice the "ill" section until you walk into it and see the sign, there are two waiting areas.. both equipped with tvs and toys. Lauren had fun before the appointment, trying to make friends with a little girl and her brother, who were playing with this humungous abbacus type thing. She also explored a toddler-sized play gym, with slide. We held her hands as she went down the slide, and then she'd quickly turn around and try to climb back up the thing- I dont mean the gym, of course. She had to attempt the slide. LOL

So anyway.. the people there in this huge office are very friendly. One of the ladies came out and tried to make Lauren feel at home by showing her the aquarium. LOL When we got into the examine room, the nurse came in pretty quickly and did all the usual stuff.. my baby girl is approximately in the 60th percentile for her age, at 23 lbs, 1 oz, 31" tall, and her head circumference is 19". Oh yeah.. one neat thing. Everyone carries around a lap top with the patient's history on it, so they don't have to lug around files. David was impressed.. Lauren got a clean bill of health, 2 shots, and she won't have to go in for another 3 months (then after that, no shots until she's 5!).

I do like the place, and will have no problem using them (or this particular dr) for the new baby. One thing I thought was kind of strange.. well, aside from the dr not going to the hospital when the baby's born.. Instead of waiting the usual 2 weeks after the baby's born for a check-up, they have you come in earlier.. based on whether or not you're nursing. Breast-fed babies have to come in 2-4 days after discharge (before we left, the older nurse said more like 5-7 days), and then formula-fed babies should come in 7-10 days. Hmm.

Ok.. so the only bad thing that happened there.. the ONLY papers I had left of Lauren's old dr visits (cuz remember I somehow lost her immunization card) got left behind on the magazine table in the exam room. Not a huge deal, considering I called and let them know and asked if they could put the papers in with Lauren's file, but still.
