Catholic Churches Say Condoms Don't Stop AIDS - BBC

I realize that the Catholic Church is completely against contraception, but holy f*ck, people. This is the most irresponsible thing I've heard in a while. Must we give people more reason to be stupid about having safe sex? The condom (aside from abstinence) is pretty much the only form of contraception saving people from AIDS. Why basically lie about it just to keep people from having pre-marital sex? Or recreational sex, for that matter?

Just stupid.. I hope to hell they don't encourage the next wave of AIDS deaths among Catholics.
