Another fun morning, of Matthew waking up at the crack of dawn. At least he's been "sleeping in" for the most part, over the last couple of weeks. Whew!

We took Matthew in for his 15-month appointment last Monday. Because it was a 5:30 appt., we got in quickly- actually, we were the only ones there. That was a good thing, because Matthew was a little nut the entire time. He didn't want to be held, didn't want to sit on the examination table, or looks at the toys, or anything. He was most content pushing around the doctor's stool and banging it into cabinets and such.

The doctor said he looked perfectly healthy. His stats are as follows:
Height: 32 1/4"
Weight: 22lbs, 8oz
Head circ: 18 3/4"

Here are Lauren's stats at 15 months:
Height: 31"
Weight: 23lbs, 1oz
Head circ: 19"

What's funny is that supposedly, Lauren's head measurements have always been on the "large" side, but really, there's only a 1/4" difference between the two kiddos as you can see from the above. Her head has consistently been in the 75th percentile, and Matthew's has been average. Now I'm starting to wonder how. Whatever. It doesn't really matter anyway. As you can see, Lauren was a tad shorter, and a tad heavier. HEE HEE

The main topic of conversation with the doctor was/is Matthew's aversion to speach. Well, he does love to make sounds. He "sings" along with the can opener, vacuum, blow dryer, etc.. He has been making new noises ("ga ga", for example) in the last couple of weeks. I think he was making "ma ma" noises, but I'm not sure. The doctor said if he doesn't start talking by his next visit (at 18 months), we should consider getting a hearing test done. I'm pretty sure he can hear, but he doesn't really respond to his name, though. At this time there's no worry about Autism (which I'm not concerned about at this point. My cousin didn't develop (or at least show signs of) Autism til he was 2. The doctor said Matthew's social skills at this point indicate that is not an issue. Guess I just wait patiently for his first words. :)
