I'm not sure if you remember this, but last Christmas Eve, I got a phone call from my sister. She was at an Aunt's house, and the aunt had wanted to know if I'd gotten a $100 Amazon gc she'd send me via email. I certainly did not, and definitely would have remembered receiving it. I checked my spam mail just to be on the safe side (even asking when it was sent, to make it easier to search), but nothing. After some back and forth, it was realized that my aunt had sent the certificate to the wrong email address. Sigh.. she did get it straightened out with Amazon right away, and I got it either late that night or the next morning.
Fast forward to this year. Yesterday, actually. Another aunt (this time from my mom's side) called to see how I was. (I found out later she had to get the right phone number from my sister, so you can see where this is going). She asked early on if I'd gotten a big box in the mail yet. I said no. She said "oh, well if you do, it's from (I forget the site)." basically it's a gift for the kids. She told me what it was. Then much later in the conversation, she asked if I'd gotten her Christmas card yet, and I said no. She sent it weeks ago. She's like "You are on Hummingbird Lane, right"? (Which wasn't even exactly the old street name, so I had to laugh). I said no, and said what street we're on now (and have been on for over a year now). She's like "omg! I sent your box to the wrong address!!" She hung up on me.
Fast forward to we both speak with my old apartment manager who actually went to the apartment and picked up the box, which had been opened (although the item inside was still sealed in plastic). But since this company that my aunt bough the gift from could not pick it up and re-ship in time for christmas, I had to drive over there to pick it up myself. LOL Here are some pics of the kids playing with their new toy EARLY as there was no way in hell I could fit the thing in the car w/out taking it out of the box (and folding up the box):
Giraffe 1
Giraffe 2
My aunt is really sweet. She was thinking that since we recently bought a house and we have no furniture in the living room, we could potentially use it as a toy (slash) furniture. So there ya go. It's a 5 foot tall plush giraffe. Which the kids can't sit on. Not quite sturdy enough. Cute, though. I sure hope the cats don't start attacking it. LOL!
