I was hoping that since Matthew REALLY loves the Disney "Cars" movie, I could entice him into wearing underwear more often by buying him some Cars undies. And sure, he thinks they're cool. But he's had a regression of sorts, and seems to be refusing to go in the potty. (I'm not sure what he's doing at school- they haven't said anything to me either way).
Starting Thursday after school, I have pretty much hid his pull-ups, and made him wear just his underwear (during the day, at least). And I've been continuously asking him if he needs to go potty. (His standard answer is "No, thank you"). He starts to go in his underwear, then stops himself. And before, he would then either allow me to escort him to the bathroom, or he would go there himself. Now, forget it. He cries and cries for a pull-up. The pediatrician he saw at the Autism clinic said he's using them as a crutch, as obviously he has the ability to control his bladder. (I don't know what's up with having BM's, as he has yet to have one in the potty, that I'm aware of). So I guess I just have to be persistent, and refuse him a pull-up, and keep trying to get him to use the potty. I'm not sure what else to do.
I'm not expecting miracles.. but dammit, I'm tired of this, for crying out loud!!!
