Whatever is this world coming to?
First, I hear that Santa is supposed to "go skinny" in order to set a good example for children- so they don't become obese.
Now, Santa is being told to stop saying "Ho, Ho, Ho", because it may offend people?
I never believed in Santa, because I grew up in a household where Christmas was never celebrated. But I get that Santa is generally a character geared towards kids- people spend an enormous amount of effort keeping him alive in the minds and hearts of children. Many of these children are too young to know what a "Ho" is. My daughter is 5, she believes, and she has no clue what a prostitute is, much less what names people call them.
"Family Council of Victoria spokesman Bill Muehlenberg described the ban as "nonsensical".
"Potentially any big guy in a red suit with a white beard is scary but I don't think him saying 'ho ho ho' would damage a child's psyche.
"Let's just concentrate on the kids having a good time."
Amen!
