Why must blogger keep making me sign in like 2 or 3 times? It's really annoying..
In the next couple of days, David and I have to get Ohio license plates and register the car in this state. Technically you're supposed to do all that w/in 30 days of moving, but we're procrastinators. And we thought we had til the end of this month, because our car insurance back in CA was paid up for 2 months (supposedly- although now they're requiring the next payment by the 10th). We found a GREAT deal on car insurance here, for nearly half what we paid in CA.. only snag is we have to register the car here first. Dammit! Sigh.. So either today or tomorrow, D's going to go in right after work and take the test. Then he's going to come get me, and I get to take it while he watches Lauren.. and probably while I'm in there, I'll do the registration.
Oddly enough, yesterday was my first time driving here. And in a brand new car! Maybe two weeks after we moved here, the car died on D while he was on the highway.. on his way to work. Turns out the gas gauge is off.. way off. Miracle it wasn't during our trip out here, or that would have sucked! But he took it to Saturn, and it was supposedly fixed. However, it wasn't- something in the car is draining the PCM (?) which apparently controls the gas gauge.. and that little bastard part has been replaced twice. We can have a full tank, and it says there's only 1/2 in there. So he took it back in yesterday, and they gave him a Saturn VUE to drive (as a 24-hr test drive, instead of a rental.. dammit, I could have made $50 if we just went in and test drove that sucker on our own!). So David came home all excited, and we went out to eat. Afterwards, I drove it home. I was really too nervous to get into the driver's seat at first, being as how I haven't driven in a while, haven't driven here in OH, AND it's a brand new car that's not mine! LOL But I did fine. Just a bit shy on the gas pedal was all. LOL I'm not a big fan of SUV's, and yes I've heard all the controversy (frankly, it's not just the SUV that can be dangerous- there are a lot of fucknuts on the road driving them, and any fucknut can take any vehicle and make it more dangerous than it already is).. but I've been eyeing this car since we bought our SL-2. It's quite nice! Who knows if we'll ever buy one, though. They're a tad more expensive than our car ($10k more), and I'll probably see something I like better when the time comes to trade up.
