Well, I bought my dad a card today. I thought I'd share with you what I wrote. I showed it to David, and he seems to think it's pretty good. "Not too sappy, and not too forgiving".

Dad,

On Wednesday, T called me with the news of your illness. I just wanted to let you know that everyone here is thinking of you, and wishing you well. I have also contacted some people who I know from church and Imperial, asking that they say some prayers for you as well.

Despite what has been going on in the last few years, my thoughts are to your recovery. Your health is what is important now, and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you. I take comfort in knowing you have a great deal of family and friends around you who will no doubt be doing their best to keep your spirits up, and to care for you as best as they can. Toni said that you are making adjustments to your lifestyle (eating and smoking habits), and I think that’s great.

Hopefully the doctors will be able to give you some positive news as for treating the cancer, and for keeping it from spreading. No matter what they say, stay positive. Your emotional health is very important. I know T is worried about you, and will probably baby you quite a bit. She loves you, and just wants to keep you around as long as possible. Believe it or not, I do too.

I will continue to pray for you, and keep you in my thoughts.

Steph
