It's 21 degrees outside. Brrr! David said he didn't realize it was that cold til he took out the garbage this morning. No snow, though.. we were supposed to get some yesterday morning, I think. Oh well. It will come soon enough.

For Christmas, D's family is doing a gift exchange which will be held on the 13th. We're not going cuz we've done enough driving lately (him especially, what with his recent trip to Atlanta). But we're still sending the stuff. Anyway, I picked his brother's name out of a hat. The gift ideas his mom gave me were "golf balls and golf shirt". So I bought him a Deluxe Gold Ball Monogrammer, and some Top-Flite XL2000 Super Titanium balls (18pk). I think that should be good. We have a limit of $20 we can spend, and I got the Monogrammer for about half the normal price by finding it on Ebay (surprise surprise). The balls were $12 at Target. They're supposed to be a decent brand, so I hope he likes them.

Speaking of Ebay, I bid on a stuffed Cookie Monster for Lauren. Starting bid was $4.99, with shipping $2. I thought that was great for a brand new Cookie w/tags. So all of a sudden, this chick comes along and bids outrageously high for it. I went up to $11 and said forget it, when I was still outbid. Next day, she retracts her bid.. claims she typed in the numbers wrong. Personally, I think she was just trying to jack up a price for her friend or something. She never did go back and bid on it. Of course now she won't be able to unless she wants to pay more than $11 for it.. I don't think it's worth it. What sucks more, is that when I thought somebody else was going to take it away from me, I found an even better Cookie Monster.. starting bid was cheaper, although s/h was more.

Anyway, so now I've got two freaking Cookies I'm bidding on. Oh well. If I win both, I know what I'm going to do with it. There's this really nice girl who's journal I've been reading for ages, and her family is going thru a shitty holiday what with the grocery workers striking back in CA. I secretly sent her some stuff for Christmas, thru her Amazon wishlist. (Something for her that was specifically on the list, and then something for the kids that I picked out myself). I know it won't do anything to help them financially, but I wanted to do something..
