My first question is from Sherry!
What was your most memorable Christmas happening/event as you were growing up?
Well, my experiences with Christmas growing up were usually awkward.. getting presents, but not being a part of the giving. We never had a tree, and I remember people on my street thinking we were weird for not having one. That being said, it made it all that much more enjoyable to go up to my Grandma's house for Christmas and enjoy her tree.
I LOVE the smell of a live tree. I love the lights, I love looking at ornaments. My grandma always had the coolest ornaments. There were a lot of wooden ones- instruments. She also put lots of tiny candy canes all over, and I loved to sneak some off and eat them. I love sneaking a peak under the tree to see which gifts have my name on them. I love the idea of a tree skirt (I made my own the Christmas I was pregnant with Lauren).
The very first Christmas that I can remember- up at my Grandma's house. I got a Mickey Mouse train (I can't remember if she gave it to me, or if my aunt's boyfriend gave it to me). That thing rocked! It was nice and big, and you could put stuff in the train cars. There's a photo of my aunt's boyfriend beer bottle sitting in one, riding around the track. LOL It was pretty funny.
Anyway.. I think those early memories are the best.
