Something cool..

I mentioned before that Kiddo Girl (who is in Kindergarten) was in a First Grade reading group. This went on until Winter Break, after which time her teacher started her own reading group- I believe every child gets a different book, based on their reading level. Her teacher gave her two different books (chapter books) about Danny the Dog. They're all adorable, and of course she LOVES Danny. (So much so that for Valentine's Day, she made him a card). What was super neat was that the author of the Danny books- Mia Coulton- came to the school with Danny, and Kiddo's teacher let her out of class to meet him.

Right around Valentine's Day, the school held parent-teacher conferences, and the teacher happened to have a catalog of Danny products, left over from the assembly. She thought maybe Kiddo could write to Danny or get some of his books, etc.. I wrote a little note to Ms. Coulton, and enclosed the Valentine. Yesterday when we got back from my Lyme dr. appointment, there was a letter in the mail from Mia and Danny! It was hand-written, on Danny stationary.. complete with his paw print for a signature. :P And the stamp had "Super Danny" on it. Too cute!
