Woo hoo!! Crazy mom post, but my son is 4, and finally let me trim his hair (with scissors!!) for the very first time!!!!!!

He absolutely HATES having anything done to his hair. I mean, the thought of washing it just puts him over the edge. But we got a new electric hair clipper set for Christmas, and his hair has really grown out since the last time we cut it (sometime over the summer). Finally today I decided enough was enough, and he was getting it cut NOW.

But he wanted nothing to do with the clippers. They're loud, they buzz and vibrate, etc.. So I had him sit on the step-stool in the bathroom, which I crouched down behind him (down to a tank top and undies, to avoid covering my clothes with hair LOL). He was SUCH a good boy about it. He barely moved around, never whined or cried.. he did ask me quite often if I was all done, but that was about it. I had to use a hair brush to "comb" his hair for the most part- he was too excited that the real comb had numbers on it, that he held it for me while I attended to him.

And what's amazing is that it doesn't look half bad! It's mostly even! LOL I gently warned him a few times that if he moved around too much, I'd have to use the clippers on him (which would have been true). That seemed to do the trick, and we got along just fine!
