As if half of the day didn't completely suck ass already, we just tried to go to the store only to have the car be completely dead. I'm trying to figure out why- D went out earlier, but out in the middle of the day. Very sunny, no reason for needing headlights. I know he got the car washed, but what the heck would he need to turn lights on for? I guess just his/our dumb luck?

Oh.. I found a good little note on "explaining", in "What To Expect Baby's First Year"

"'If you tear the book, we won't be able to read it anymore.' An expanded awareness and understanding of his or her surroundings, as well as sensitivity to other people and their needs and feelings, is a far more important step toward your baby's eventual mastery of language and reading than learning to parrot a lot of meaningless words."

Well, I'm taking this to mean that not only am I not spoiling my child by explaining- and whether nor not she can understand me at this point, I find to be irrelevant- but I'm also encouraging language development. Yay me!
